I graduated from Michigan State University (Go Spartans!) with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Language Arts emphasis. My first job was a 1st grade classroom in the Maple Valley School district, located just outside of Lansing. My family then moved to the Petoskey area where I taught Pre-school, Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grades in a private school where I worked for four years. I moved to the public school in Petoskey where I taught a Junior Primary class and all-day kindergarten in a five year span. While there, I also continued my own education and received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University (Go Lakers!). My family decided we had been away from the U.P. for too long when I was hired at CLK Elementary to teach 3rd grade. I have since had two looping classes of 3rd and 4th, and taught 5th for one year. I've been back to a 4th grade class now for five years and love it as much as ever (Go Rockhounds!). I finished what I needed to do to get a Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Northern Michigan University (Go Wildcats!) in the spring of 2007. As you can see, I live and breathe education! :)

I am married with two wonderful grown up children. My husband also works in the educational world. Our families both live in the area. We enjoy spending time outdoors and love all the water around us here in the U.P.
